About this game

Available exclusively for Netflix members.

Load 'em up, Gunslinger. Find the loot, kill the boss. You're a Wild West cyborg fighting an army of robots in this futuristic, action-packed shooter.

In a futuristic Wild West, robots that were once designed to help with life have taken over the planet, threatening humans. You play as the Gunslinger, the baddest in the Old West, cloned back to life by a mad human scientist to fight off the robot oppression. Dust & Neon is a classic top-down, twin-stick shooter with RPG progression and influences from the roguelite and looter shooter genres.

Features:

• Shoot, kill, reload, repeat. Enjoy twin-stick action in this shoot 'em up where players spawn at home base, gear-up, upgrade and then pick a mission to fight.
• Death is only the beginning. Power-up your character across countless runs (and deaths).
• Choose from a variety of different mission types, including: Kill All, Train Heist and Sabotage Objective. Always be on the lookout for cash and better weapons — the search for better loot drives mission progress.
• Experience unique boss fights. As you progress through the game, rank up and upgrade, move closer toward going head-to-head with the next boss in line!

It's fun for a couple of levels then gets stupid. First couple of levels is Easy, then Medium (which should be Hard). You get some semi-good weapons in the Easy level, then the next options are only Medium difficulty. You can't hit the enemies in cover, but they can hit you. They have guns where bullets follow you and hit you in cover. You die and lose all your weapons and loot so you get weak guns and play an easy level, then the next one is Medium and you die again. Stupid game.

It's a really well done game and retails for $30 on PC and Switch. Stick a controller on there and you have a fun roguelite. I cannot imagine touchscreen with this -- it's a twin stick shooter. I've only had one crash in maybe 5h and that's with the screen off. Sensitivity could be better and mechanics could be different (i.e. point to shoot without L2 with guidelines), but I've gotten used to it and it's definitely not what's killing me in this game.

As fun as this game is, it's weirdly unstable. And whenever it decides to freeze up on you, it WILL take away whatever guns you're using. I know it's a rogue lite and that's part of the core gameplay loop, but losing weapons because the game is unstable is infuriating. Even for free (with a Netflix subscription), I'm not sure I can deal with this long-term.
